Fabulous Friday

Good afternoon,

Today kicked off way early! It was good to see so many of you supporting the PTA this morning. The children looked wonderful, and the Jump Jam was pretty cool!



After roll call...


...we were back outside for the Fashion Parade...




Later in the morning we had our first play on the new pod of net books. Using their inbuilt web cams, the children took a photo of themselves, saved it to the local drive, inserted into a Comic Life page, to which they added speech bubbles and a nice background colour which was all saved onto the network. Well done guys!

Comic Life can export these files as HTML pages, I'll just have to grab one of the net books so's I can glue them all together into one file and export it onto the web. Not tonight though!

Your children have worked very hard this term, so enjoy a well earned break.

Surprisingly Sunny Thursday

Good afternoon,

Room 2's weather station is telling me it's 18.9 degrees outside (and 19 degrees in here). Ah, but it's nice to see the sun again, even if it is but for a while. Looks like it'll be cloudy tomorrow...

But I digress.

This morning's maths was our last shape exploration for the term. The children created their own abstract-ish art.




Have a look in their maths books for the evidence thereof.

After morning tea Blue Group recorded their book That's Really Weird, which has just been added to our Listening Post Page

And after lunch we had a visit from a fire crew...








...before a sing a long and finishing with some games outside.

And a good time was had by all.

Don't forget to bring along your cup for the hot Milos in the morning, and your gold coin for the sausage sizzle. If you've yet to bring along a coin for mufti day (Heroes and Villains) then please keep that separate from the sausage money. One amount is going to Samoa, one is going to the PTA to bye extra bits and pieces for OLA.

Wednesday Wednesday

Good afternoon,

This morning started off with this...


...which prompted this...


Then on with some shape games for maths.



Then on to some writing...





...and reading.



This afternoon we watched Where the Wild Things Are (and In the Night Kitchen), before creating some music to fit different parts of the story.

And a good time was had by all.

Tomorrow will be our last P.E. day for the term...actually, today was the last day of our dress uniform for this term. Tomorrow is sports-gear-day, and Friday is of course the mufti day. Please get your mufti money in tomorrow do it doesn't get mixed up with the sausage sizzle money for our Mid Winter Breakfast, also on Friday.

Tuesday Play Day

Good afternoon,

After a spot of maths...



...and reading...



...Room 2 welcomed the Newbies with some games...




Suffice it to say, the noise level in the room was...elevated...from time to time. 'Specially after they found the lion at the end of their lion hunt!

Tomorrow afternoon, well, to be honest, looks to be a little noisy too, as we'll be borrowing Miss Shaw's copy of Where the Wild Things Are and making some music to go with the story. And pictures. And a spot of drama too. Arty Wednesday, here we come!

Messy Munchie Monday

Good evening,

Today we kicked off the day much in the same way as we ended - making a mess!

This morning's maths was to make a geometric shape out of wool and glue.




Blue Reading Group didn't so much make a mess, as make a play of this morning's book Catch a Caterpillar.


After the Year 1 Holy Spirit R.E. assessment, we all then settled down for a spot of afternoon tea, just as Jesus might have back when he was a child.







And a good time was had by all!
