Good afternoon,

Well, it is here. It's lovely, in fact. I should be out painting or sanding or something. Nah, it's too hot!

Anyway, I've just added Room 2's Listening Post Page, so far only populated by the files created by Room 3 last year and the Read to Read files I'd uploaded.

Still, they're still worth the listen, eh?!

Confirmed Room 2 Timetables

Good evening,

I've just come back from a fascinating couple of days at the Teachers Matter conference. Picked up a myriad of ideas (including to use more music!), and one of the things that came through strongly was to provide children lots of different experiences, and I thought "Hey, that's where parents can help out!" Actually, more than that. Take 'em to the museum. The park. The gallery. Throw a ball, have a picnic, run around in the rain, that kind of thing. Give it a go!

Also, here is the timetable that Room 2 will be using while we're swimming, and the timetable that will take over after swimming.

Galoop Goes to Laser Strike

Good evening,

Galoop, Mr Atherton, Matthew and a couple of his friends have just come back from shooting each other with laser pistols.







It was fantastic fun!

Andrew got the highest score, Galoop and I came second, Matt came third, and, well...don't ask Mr A where he came! On second thoughts, yes, do ask Mr Atherton where he came! I dare you!

Room 2's Stationery List

Here, in case you have misplaced it, is Room 2's 2010 Stationery List.

If you want to shop for these items on line, the above list is available at www.myschool.co.nz.

Just select Room 2’s stationery list by typing in “Our Lady of the Assumption” (or just “our”), selecting Our Lady of the Assumption, typing your child’s name (don’t worry about the Student ID), selecting Room 2 from the radio buttons, click Save and Continue and then de-select the items that you already have. Click Add Items to Cart and...Hey Presto! Fill in the delivery details and they all get delivered to the door. It’s all pretty cool!

First Notices of the Year

Good evening,

Just a quick reminder that we will be swimming pretty much from the first day of the term (in the afternoons, time yet to be confirmed), to send the children to school in their Fitness gear as normal, and...something else I wanted to remind you of, but I can't for the life of me remember it! Hats? No, that's not it, you all know about wearing hats in Terms 1 and 4. It'll come to me later.

In the meantime, here is a first draft of Room 2's Generic Timetable. At this stage I expect that swimming will be happening in the first half hour of the afternoon, but I'll be able to confirm that on Monday.
